Relation between bath and food

Dharmashastra of Hinduism ancient text “MANUSMUTI” said that one important thing is

न स्नानं आचरेत भूक्त्वा… (Na Snanam Acharet Bhuktva)

“we should not take a shower/Bath  after eating food”. But why did Ayurveda say that? The reason is when eat food, our body automatically increases the blood supply to the stomach for the next 48 min to 1 hour and suppose that if we take bath in this time period then a body increases the blood supply to the skin a because of this stomach can not get enough blood supply which requires for digestion of food  and by this process of formation of “AAM” (undigested food material which later act as poison in body, and according to Ayurveda AAM is main causative factor for many diseases) begins inside the body. If it were to happen repeatedly consistently, then the diseases of the digestive system form a big picture in forma of new diseases and at that moment we will not be able to find cause or reason behind the disease.
So first take a shower, then eat food or breakfast if you want.

Papaya, Pineapple & Abortion

Many pregnant women drink fruit juice or fruits in pregnancy. but wait what Ayurveda said about this. let me explain you about effect papaya and pineapple in pregnancy.

1) Papaya
In Ayurveda papaya called “Eranda Karkati”. (Carica papaya)
According to ayurveda payaya is KATU, KATU , USNA (Hot) in property , chemical composition of payaya contain milk which digestive in action called “papain”.
this milk found more in fruit of papaya and less amount in root , leaf and stem of plant.
This PAPAIN same act like PEPSIN in our body. (more Stronger than Pepsin)

Those who eat meat, fish and other non vegetarian food 3 to 5 times in week , to them we advice eat 4 to 8 pieces papaya after food. because fruit contains papain which is strong digestive in action (pachan Karma). approximately 1 part of papaya have potential of digest 250 part of meat. ratio is 1:250 by this we can imagine how much strong digestive property papaya have it.

papaya also help for for digestion of aam (Undigested food material which remains inside intestine)
according to Ayurveda in first 3 months of pregnancy fetus is in kalal form (means in semi solid or jelly like consistency) also we called aam garbh . and suppose that pregnant women drink juice of papaya or fruit then that leads to digestion of fetus increase uterus contraction (induce ovulation also) followed by abortion and because of this reason papaya  is contraindicated in pregnancy .

Indication of Panchkarma (Shodhan)

Patient or people walk into the clinic and tell us we want to do the Panchkarma. Is it any indication mentioned in the classic text of Ayurveda? That when we can precisely advice or we can make panchkarma of patient. And the answer is yes, Charak mentioned those things in details. Let me explain you one by one.
Charak Mentioned common principle of shodhan in Charak samhita
We should always remember this principle of shodhan in our practice, so we will not get no problem or complication while a panchkarma procedure.
Now, how we can  recognized that the patient has bahu dosh or madhyam or hin dosha?
Charak mentioned the symptoms in text as follows.

1) BAHU DOSHA –
  • Aruchi – feel tasteless food or have no interest in eating food
    Stulya – Obesity
Panduta – abnormal pale skin or anemia
Kalma – psychological fatigue as well as physical
Pidaka, kotha, kundu – pruritus, boils on the skin
    Alasya – Sloth

In all of the above conditions, we can advise Shodhan (Panchkarma) to the Patient.
Charak gives a classic example in text –
When the accumulation of water in the dam is more than its capacity, at that time opening doors of dam  is the best solution in the same way when increasing the dosh in large quantity, we should use Shodhan (Panchkarma) as treatment.

2) MADHYAM DOSH –
  • Chardi – Vomiting
    Atisar – Dysentery or diarrhea
    Hrud rog – heart disease
    Jwar – Fever
    Gaurav – body weight

In this condition, Charak said that we should use Langhan, Pachan, Atapseven (sunbath)
    He mentioned an example –
When the water acccumulated inside dam is in  medium amount that rays of sun and soil can dry the water in the same way Madhyam Dosha get shaman.

3) HIN DOSH –

In Hin dosha we can advise or cure by Langham or fasting only.
